The HKFYG Leadership Institute held a 4-day, 3-night "Moot Court Summer School" from 23 to 26 July, attracting nearly 60 secondary school students to undergo legal advocacy training at the Former Fanling Magistracy.
The Institute was honoured to have Robertsons Law firm as our professional legal training partner. Their legal team provided practical guidance throughout the programme, guiding participants to dissect case details and encouraging them to think critically about courtroom strategies.
The summer school culminated in a mock trial competition held in the historic Court No. 2. Participants presented their cases before a panel of retired magistrates and practising lawyers, receiving immediate professional feedback. Through this valuable learning experience, participants not only mastered basic courtroom techniques, but also enhanced their resilience under pressure, public speaking, and teamwork abilities.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all participants, our professional legal training partner, all adjudicators, and legal professionals for their dedication and hard work during the summer school.
The HKFYG Leadership Institute will continue to leverage the unique history and architectural space of the Former Fanling Magistracy to host more youth training programmes and community activities, driving youth development forward.
