Overview
Traditional villages embody profound architectural wisdom and history. This workshop is designed for participants who wish to learn about Hong Kong Hakka culture and the structures of ancient buildings.
The course combines village experience with model making, guiding participants to observe architectural designs such as defensive structures from an interdisciplinary STEAM perspective, and covers diverse areas including ethnic group history, folk beliefs and ecological conservation. Participants will master cultural observation skills that combine science and art, deepen their understanding of traditional architecture through hands-on making, and thereby connect with the local development of Chinese culture in Hong Kong, building a sense of identification with local historical heritage and cultural continuity.
