Future Legal Leaders: Moot Court Summer School 2026
Tailored for secondary students interested in law, the summer school introduces the essentials of legal theory and courtroom operations. Participants will develop practical skills in case analysis, learning to categorise evidence and differentiate fact from opinion. With expert mentorship, the programme emphasises structured critical thinking and analytical problem-solving, empowering students to evaluate evidence and reasoning from multiple legal standpoints.
The programme attracted nearly 60 secondary school students to undergo legal advocacy training at the Former Fanling Magistracy. The Institute was honoured to have Robertsons Law firm as our professional legal training partner. Their legal team provided practical guidance throughout the programme, guiding participants to dissect case details and encouraging them to think critically about courtroom strategies.
The summer school culminated in a mock trial competition held in the historic Court No. 2. Participants presented their cases before a panel of retired magistrates and practising lawyers, receiving immediate professional feedback. Through this valuable learning experience, participants not only mastered basic courtroom techniques, but also enhanced their resilience under pressure, public speaking, and teamwork abilities.
