Join Us as a Group Leader for Summer School 2026
The HKFYG Leadership Institute is now recruiting Group Leaders for the Summer School Series 2026. Group Leaders will support and facilitate one of the following programmes:
- Future Legal Leaders: Moot Court Summer School
- Global Public Health Summer Summit
- English News Anchors Summer School
As a Group Leader, you will be more than an activity facilitator—you will serve as a mentor and source of inspiration for participants. You will receive training for group work leading, facilitate group discussions and activities, support participants’ residential operations, foster team building, and accompany students as they explore topics related to law, public health, media, and international affairs.
Compulsory Training

Responsibilities of Group Leaders
- Lead a group of 8 to 10 secondary school students during the Summer School programme.
- Stay overnight and dine with programme participants.
- Foster team cohesion and ensure that participants are provided with a harmonious and engaging learning environment.
- Promote participants’ personal growth and learning through pre- and post-activity reflection sessions (briefing & debriefing).
- Deepen participants' understanding of the programme themes covered in the Summer School, as well as related topics and questions.
Requirements of Group Leaders
- Currently enrolled in tertiary education, or holding a tertiary qualification or above.
- Good command of English and excellent communication skills.
- Passion for working with young people.
- Depending on the different Summer School series activities, Group Leaders are required to meet the following criteria:
Future Legal Leaders: Moot Court Summer School - Priority will be given to university students majoring in disciplines related to Law are welcome.
- Prior experience in moot court competitions or debates will be given priority consideration.
Global Public Health Summer Summit - Priority will be given to university students majoring in disciplines related to Public Health or International Relations.
- Applicants with prior experience in simulated international conferences will be given priority consideration.
English News Anchors Summer School - Priority will be given to university students majoring in Journalism, Communication, English, Education, or related disciplines.
- Applicants with prior experience in news anchoring, campus TV, debating, or public speaking will be given priority consideration.
